| Two-time Grammy winning songwriter, David Hess, began writing
songs for Shalimar Music in 1957. In his teenage years during the late
50's and early 60's, David sang and penned a string of top hits, including
seven for Elvis Presley, ("All Shook Up," "I Got Stung" (also covered by
the Beatles), "Come Along," "Frankie and Johnny," "Speedy Gonzalez," ...)
His solo recording, "Two Brothers", also made the Top Ten and the Hit Parade.
Later, Hess switched gears, finding success again
as a soundtrack composer and as an actor, starring in over 30 films including
several Wes Craven cult classics, ("Last House on the Left," "Swamp Thing,"
etc.).
Hess' brand new CD, entitled "Caught Up In The Moment,"
marks the first solo release from this legendary songwriter in over two decades.
Hess, who currently resides in San Francisco, considers "Caught" to be his
musical autobiography, on which he shows himself to be a master storyteller
- taking us on a journey from reckless youth to tender fatherly experiences.
An expert at his craft, Hess still knows how to write a hit song, and his
vocals are nothing less than captivating.
